An explanation of this thing

It just dawned on me, I haven't actually said what this blog is for, yet. Well, it's connected to a Facebook group I set up today: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=77996949199&ref=nf which encourages people to make-up fake discographies of fake bands for purely their own entertainment. If you have one, you can either join the facebook group and post to the discussion page, or sent it to me here at the blog, and I'll post it up on both (please specifiy if you'd rather I kept it to either the blog or the facebook page specifically). Alternatively, you can just read others that people put up here. But if ever you want to get involved, please drop me a line!

Okay, here's the introduction from the Facebook Group:

"This is one for the musicologists, vinyl-addicts and note-nerds out there: Let's Make Up Fake Discographies! They can be of any type of band, and any type of career from the mega-seller to the one-hit wonder. Only, YOU have to make everything up from scratch - the band/singer/act name, the label(s) they sign too, the formats, the times of record releases, the song names, the remixes, the reissues, the spine numbers, etc etc. And see if you can make it as realistic as possible!

Post your discographies to this group and watch them grow. Maybe you can also come up with potted histories, or even write some of the fictional band's music yourself. Design covers for pretend albums. Photoshop guitarists. Have fun!!!!

(It's probably going to be cheaper than buying "Rock Star" for the PS3, anyway)"
